Jeff Good – CCC Pastor

Dear friends,

“When you know a wonderful secret you tell it to your friends..”  So go the lyrics from one of my favorite singer/song writers, Larry Norman.

The same is true of a wonderful story. We’ve been thinking about this wonderful story on Sunday mornings for a while now. A story we want to tell our friends.

God has been telling this story since the beginning of time.

It’s like a five act play.

Act 1 is Creation.  God is creator and He created all that we see and it was good.

Act 2 is the Fall.  We as humans rebelled against God’s good plan and that caused separation.

Act 3 is Rescue.  God was not surprised by our rebellion and in fact had a rescue plan all ready.

Act 4 is Jesus.  God’s rescue plan was fulfilled in Jesus.  He brought redemption and reconciliation to mankind through his death and resurrection.

Act 5 is New Family, New heaven, New earth.  God’s rescue plan also puts us in a new family which is a light of hope on a hill for the world to see.  God’s rescue plan will also bring His kingdom to this earth in all its fullness one day.

Currently, we’re taking a walk through the New Testament. The various books we’re looking at now are actually letters. These letters are God’s word and are useful to us. Every part of scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another – showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped for the tasks God has for us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 The Message)

I hope you can join us some Sunday morning.

Plans for the future

How to leave an eternally significant legacy. (April – June)
After Easter we will sit with the resurrected Jesus, as did his first followers, and hear His final commission, His last command – Go! Make disciples! In other words “how to say what we really want to say to those we love most – in the living years.”

The Miracles of Jesus then and now (June – August)
So Jesus did amazing miracles while here on earth – so what – how can I get in on those today? How can the miraculous power of Jesus show up in my life today, in my marriage, with my kids or parents, at my work? We will figure that out together this summer.
