Dear friends at CCC,

In the midst of all that is swirling around us about the Coronavirus pandemic, we hope and pray that God’s Word and His Spirit is the dominant voice in your heart and mind.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27

Your leadership here at CCC has been actively monitoring the current COVID-19 situation and we feel that the best decision for this Sunday, March 15 is to not gather as a whole group at our space.  Since our President has called for this Sunday to be a day of prayer, gathering in smaller groups to pray is something we encourage you to consider.

This decision is made out of our best wisdom from many sources, as to how to help stem the spread of the virus and was not made out of fear.  We are motivated out of love for the vulnerable among us, for the medical community that serves us, and for our neighbors. This was not an easy decision to come to and there were differing perspectives offered.

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you posted next week on what our next steps will be. We are here to serve you and our community no matter what, so please reach out with any needs.

In the meantime, here is something to consider, borrowed from several local churches:
This is the time for us to BE the church and live out what we believe:

  • We have not been given a spirit of FEAR. (2 Timothy 1:7)
  • We TURN TO JESUS with anxious thoughts. (1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6-7)
  • We give THANKS rather than complain. (Philippians 2:14-16, 4:4)
  • We FOLLOW & TRUST Jesus rather than panicking. (Matthew 11:29, Hebrews 11:6)
  • We SERVE those who are at risk. (Matthew 25:40)
  • We welcome TRIALS knowing the One who is in control. (James 1:2-4)

Trusting in our God,
Jeff and Geoff
