Two years ago Scotty Andersen, a member of our church who had grown up being a part of our student ministry, was seeking where God wanted him to be for the next phase of his life. This search led him to take an internship with a family who were missionaries outside of Antigua, Guatemala, Todd and Maureen Erickson, who also happened to be friends with several Christ Community families. Scotty is now joining the Erickson’s on full-time staff, with his soon-to-be wife Debora.
God is moving in Guatemala. He is drawing people to himself as their spiritual, mental, physical, economic and social needs are being met. We are excited to join Him in his work and walk alongside Scotty and the Erickson’s in their work with Redeemer’s House this summer. We will be ministering to the people there through children’s ministry, minor home repair and meeting physical needs.
We are taking a team of 14 to Guatemala from July 27 – August 3. I would like to ask you to consider partnering with us in this mission opportunity. First and foremost, we need people who will pray for us as we prepare to go and for the people we will be serving. Secondly, I am asking you to consider making a financial contribution to help send us to Guatemala. Each member of the team is being asked to raise $1400 in support to make this trip possible.
“He has shown you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
